HALLIE MATHIA, CNM

Hallie has wanted to be a midwife since she was very young — she has no idea where that pull came from, but as long as she can remember, she’s wanted to be involved in birth work. Prior to beginning on her own path to midwifery, she earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Emerson College. She focused her writing and work there on all things birth, including photographing homebirths in Massachusetts as a photojournalist. After graduation, she moved to Connecticut and began her pre-requisite classes for nursing school. She also trained and worked as a birth doula, where she first met the WHA midwives! Read more.

WHA Nurses

Wondering if your symptoms can wait until your office visit? Not sure if you need to be seen in the emergency room? Need help with your lab orders? Our collective of nurses can help guide you to the right care. We have a mix of current labor & birth nurses and nurses who are continuing their training as midwives, and they work as navigators for our patients. Reassurance, triage, and care planning are nurse specialties, and urgent concerns can often be routed more appropriately after a conversation with one of these fantastic professionals.
